Former eTV Scandal cast members Hungani and Stephanie Ndlovu opened up about their miscarriage. Since the two got married they opened a YouTube channel to share the content of their marriage and lives. As one of Mzansi’s most loved couples, this was a very genius move. In their most recent video, they shared how they got a miscarriage.
Pregnancy reveal
So initially Stephanie who played the role of Ingrid on Scandal got pregnancy symptoms. In the month of July 2020, she took a pregnant and found out she was expecting. She hid the test at a convenient spot where her husband could find it.
When he came into their bedroom he found the test and he was so excited. Both of them shared a long and tight hug. Hungani says on their YouTube video he was feeling a lot of emotions at the time.
As excited as the couple was they decided to call their parents and let them know. Universally expecting couples usually hide the news of their pregnancy until at least 3 months. Why they do this is due to not having to explain much if they encounter issues.
Complications in the pregnancy
When the couple went for several checkups the gynaecologist found an unusual pattern of change in Stephanie’s body. After conducting several tests it was discovered there wasn’t a developing embryo in the uterus. Stephanie and Hunganani had what is called an embryonic pregnancy.
Embryonic pregnancy definition
An embryonic pregnancy is when an embryo doesn’t develop or even stops developing. So far the reason why this occurs is still unknown. Chromosomal abnormalities are classified as a leading probability. After the couple got their diagnosis the gynaecologist explained they have to remove the embryo. Due to covid, they had to do the removal at home for lesser risk. Both Stephanie and Hungani described the process as traumatic and tough.
Advice to people
Stephanie said people must stop applying pressure on people. Society shouldn’t expect people to get married soon or have children soon. People go through a lot of trauma behind closed doors.
