How Moipone Zulu blew R14 million jackpot
Moipone Zulu also known as R14 million won a R13,900,000 jackpot in April 2015. Just like people with large sums of cash, she wanted to break free from poverty and live her best life.
We will start her journey from the moment she received a whooping R13,9 million.
Lets see how she blew it.
She invested in a medium to long term endowment policy R5 million for the kids and R2 million each for herself and the father of her kids which has a five year minimum term.
She gave R100,000 each to her sisters and R50,000 to her brother and paid out R200,000 to her driver for his services.
Moipone donated R20,000 to a friend by buying her a shack and furnishing it.
She donated R1 million to her brother in law.
With an estimated R5,3 million left, she started spending on herself. She bought herself a house for R1,7 million and furnished it with R200,000 before buying a VW Tiguan for R500,000.
She opened a guest house business for R2,2 million by financing it from her investments and that of her baby daddy.
Her baby daddy purchased an Audi A4 for R450,000 which he crashed within a month before buying a VW GTI for R220,000 and ruining it that very month. He went on to buy another VW GTI for R265 000 and crashed three days after purchase before buying another BMW.
After spending a total of R1,5 million on her baby daddy’s cars, she dumped him for a policeman. The lucrative deal for the law enforcement officer saw Moipone buy him a BMW for R135,000, Opel Corsa bakkie for R65,000, a motorbike for R65,000 and allowed his new boyfriend to advance a loan of R100,000 to himself using her banking credentials. She dumped the police officer for and re-united with baby daddy again.
She went on to break her children’s endowment policy to withdraw R5 million she invested for them and was charged a whooping R455,000.
Moipone went on to purchase a house for R660,000 and a Ford Ranger Bakkie for R600,000. She started throwing parties and donating to relatives and the most memorable one was the all white party that lasted for two days, open to the public with alcohol and food for free.
They got married in September and her baby daddy Nhlanhla left his job.
She purchased a Toyota Quantum for R220,000, a car for her nephew for R200,000, a VW Polo for her estate agent and another Golf GTI for her husband for R280,000.
Moipone was called to invest in a tender scam and she lost R500,000. She lost a further R150,000 by investing in Bitcoin. She sold the guest house for R950,000 and made a loss for over R1 million and squandered it all.
Moipone traded a Golf 7 GTi for R7000 as she was broke and she is now looking for a job.
