South African actor Paballo Mavundla has been making big moves in the acting industry, landing roles in many shows, and Good Men has been added to the list. The young trailblazer is famously known for his role in House of Zwide, playing Sandile, a former intern at the fashion house. Before that, he has been in soapies like Generations the Legacy, Isono and many others.
Paballo’s role in House of Zwide as Sandile
The young actor joined the cast in the show’s first season, playing Sandile, one of the three interns in the assistant fashion designer job. A fourth competitor for the job was added to their crew through unforeseen circumstances. This made Sandile’s career goals challenging to achieve in the face of this new competition. However, as a good-hearted person, he helped all his fellow interns and developed feelings for Onalerona, his biggest competitor.
Despite having troubles at home and needing to rescue his little brother from their stepmother, Sandile still played fair and never sabotaged his competition like the rest of the group. With the events around him, Sandile won over the heart of Zanele, a Zwide, and they started dating. However, after winning the internship, he currently has to work as a waiter while squatting with Ona’s boyfriend.
Paballo Mavundla joins Good Men
Good men debuted last week as a legal drama series on SABC 1, and last night the young actor debuted his role in the series. Paballo Mavundla takes on the role of Gugu’s brother, who attacks Zola after his sister dies, claiming Zola killed her. The series follows the story of Zola, a high school boy who meets Jama, a trailblazing lawyer who wants to redeem himself when he is arrested for the attempted murder of his girlfriend.
While he awaits his bail hearing, Zola’s girlfriend Gugu dies at the hospital, so her brother pays Zola a visit at jail, where he punches him while blaming him for his sister’s death. Zola, who had not heard that Gugu had died, was shocked at the news to fight back before Gugu’s brother was escorted outside by the police. However, when the episode ends, it is revealed that Gugu died of multiple stab wounds, but Zola had only slashed her once by mistake during an altercation with their teacher. For his role, Paballo Mavundla is rumoured to be taking home a salary of R45 000 because his role is that of a supporting cast.
Previous roles of the actor
The actor has been rumoured to be leaving House of Zwide with fellow actress Sikelelwa Vuyeleni after they lost the internship. He is also known as the troublesome Jerah on Generations The Legacy, where his role was that of an entitled young man. In the former series, The Herd, the actor also played the role of Nkosana before joining Isono as Siphiwe. The most significant role of his career so far is that of Sandile in House of Zwide, as that is what he is best known for.
