House of Zwide actress ‘Nikiwe’ Thembisa Mdoda Nxumalo is set to host a new show on SABC1
Thembisa Mdoda Nxumalo has been showing us raw talent on House of Zwide these past weeks playing Nikiwe. Her character started as a character who had a grudge against Funani but almost had an affair with him. When Funani chose his wife over her, Nikiwe left and was nowhere to be seen.
Thembisa has been announced as the host of a new show coming to SABC1 by Phil Mpela on Twitter. The show is called Classic Celebrations, and it is a reality show that will see her travelling around the country. Thembisa will get to share celebrations with random South Africans. Classic Celebrations is set to debut on Television on the 6th of April. One Twitter user went on to say that it is Thembisa Season as she has been landing jobs frequently. She says that after spending most of last year fighting for her life, she deserves all these wins coming her way.

Nxumalo is not new to these presenting jobs as she is an Award-winning Television Host. The Television personality was the presenter of Our Perfect Wedding in the show’s 6th and 7th seasons. This saw her bagging an award as the Best Presenter at the SAFTAS in 2017. Mzansi Magic Choice awards gave her the same award the same year. After that, she went to land a role as a host on Metro FM, where she worked on a breakfast program together with MOG for one year.
Thembisa also has a long CV as an actress on the small screen for years. Her debut role was in The Road, where she played the role of Thabisile Cebekhulu. She had a role in Isibaya, playing the role of Amanda Molefenyane and Thembi in Unmarried’s second season. The actress worked on The Queen as Vuyiswa, where she was Hector’s love interest but left the show. House of Zwide is the actress’ latest Television project that Thembisa has been featured in.
In 2021, Thembisa Mdoda spent most of the months battling with long Covid. The actress and her family shared the journey with the actress’ fans. After her recovery, she opened up about her battle, telling the world that she had almost died. This made her lose jobs and not get chances to land new ones till she recovered.
