His illustrious career has undoubtedly thrust him amongst some of the finest actors in South Africa. Khaya Dladla has fast become that star actor we all love to hate, and he has an illustrious career to show for it.
One might find it amusing that the celebrated actor was once jobless when he was axed from Mzansi’s most-watched drama series Uzalo, kissing his GC on-screen character goodbye.
After all, his exit from Uzalo has offered him several gigs on a silver platter. Since then, he has been winning big, from playing Lazarus on the e.tv fashion drama series House Of Zwide to co-hosting at Gagisa FM.
A few days he was topping trends when he revealed that he was turning down job offers because of his busy schedule.
Khaya Dladla to be the host of Our Perfect Wedding
In the mix of things, the actor did reveal that he had secured another gig but refused to disclose his new gig. However, in the combination of things, Mzansi has connected the dots about his new gig. Reports have it that the celebrated actor will be the face of Our Perfect Wedding.
The show airs every Saturday at 7:00 p.m. on Mzansi Magic and follows couples as they embark on their wedding journey.
Rumour mill has it that Khaya wasn’t expecting the gig, but his bubbly personality left the showrunners without an option rather than to tag him along. Sources close to the actor say it’s one of his biggest wins since this was his dream lifetime gig.
“Khaya is very lucky to get an opportunity like this in the program, and for him, it is history as it was an opportunity he did not expect, but it presented itself, and he grabbed it with both hands.
“He posted a video on his social, showing himself filming,” said the source.

Contacted for comment, the actor did admit to joining a new show and being its latest addition to its new season but decided to keep everything under wrap. Due to contractual agreements, Khaya refused to disclose the name of the show he was working on.
“You know the conditions of the contracts given to us do not allow us to announce before it is too late, but soon people will know,” said Khaya.
The reasons behind the hifrontmt of Uzalo were a mystery until he opened up. Uzalo did GC dirty not so long ago when they axed him out of the blue, leaving him jobless. In the wake of newfound fame, he has often opened up on his fallout with Uzalo showrunners.
To make matters worse, he was refused from the lead cast, only to have a short return when the drama serhad troublebles with views. He was reduced to a call actor.
“When we returned to Uzalo, they did not inform us (he and Nokuthula Mabika) how long we would stay with the show. Other cast members knew they would only be with the show for a few weeks, and then their contracts lapsed.
“That is why when the opportunity arose for me to join House Of Zwide, I could not turn it down because I know how long I am contracted to stay with them which years to come,” he explained.
