Hottie Alert: Zimbabwean born Duke of Hastings in The Bridgertons

If ever there is a hottie who has taken Netflix by a storm it has to be The Bridgertons’ Duke of Hastings. The Zimbabwean born actor, Regé-Jean Page, born Regererai has given nothing but a feast for the eyes to many around the world. The upcoming actor got himself a lead role in The Bridgertons, a Netflix series. The series is a Shona Rhimes adaptation of the best selling book series, The Bridgertons by Julia Quinn.

The series is a historic romance themed story set in Regency-era British society. Think Gossip Girl but in the 1800s where people weren’t allowed to date without a chaperone to make sure things remain PG rated. The Duke of Hastings, Simon Basett, played by Regé-Jean Page comes in for a love story with one of the Bridgertons girls, the Bridgertons being a wealthy and influential family.

Regé-Jean Page was born and bred in Harare, Zimbabwe. The actor then relocated to London when he was 14. The “Duke of Hastings” is not quite the big figure in British screens. His role in The Bridgertons has proven to be one of his biggest roles ever. His charm and good looks have won him thousands of hearts of both readers and viewers of The Bridgerton series. Reviews are happy with his portrayal of the dashing Duke. Partly cause he is also dashing himself! This is not the actor’s first project with Shondaland as he worked with the acclaimed Shona Rhimes in For the People in 2017.

His acting career began in theatre with him starring in Merchant Of Venice at London’s Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. Since then the actor has dabbled with both theatre and TV and is fast becoming a favourite.
