Highly educated: TV Presenter Katlego Maboe’s educational qualifications get Mzansi talking
Katlego Maboe’s extraordinary presenting skills have made him a household name in the entertainment industry. It will be a sin to talk about the best television presenters in Mzansi without bringing Katlego into the equation. Judging from his excellent presenting skills, one can think Katlego Maboe studied for presenting. He is an academic genius who holds a bachelor’s degree in another program that is not presenting. Here is a sneak peek at his educational qualification and the schools he attended.

The award-winning presenter was born and bred in Potchefstroom. He grew up in a wealthy family, as his parents were highly educated. Kaltego Maboe’s mother was a teacher at a private school in Lichtenburg. Being a teacher was one of the most paying and decent jobs back then, so Maboe’s mother was rich. She ensured that her kids had the best education, and she sent Katlego Maboe to a boy’s high school for his secondary education.
Katlego Maboe did his matric at Potchefstroom High School for boys, and he passed his matric with flying colours. He graduated with straight distinctions and was among the most outstanding students. After passing his matric, he registered for tertiary education at North-West University, where he studied for a Bachelor of Commerce in Chartered Accounting, graduating in 2007.
The institute marvelled with his performance and displayed him prominently on their alumni page. He was also one of the recipients of the 2015 North-West University Alumni Awards. He is a genius who is more than the comic presenter we see on our screens.
With his passed certificate Maboe did not struggle to get a job. He worked as an accountant for a year and later discovered his passion for presenting and pursuing it. Getting a career in the presenting field was a nightmare for him as he didn’t have the qualifications and the experience. However, fortune favours the bold he won his first presenting job at a lifestyle magazine, DEKAT, in 2010. The show was in Afrikaans, one of the three languages he is fluent in. His job at DEKAT opened new doors for him as he was a great presenter who loved his job.
