Sol is among iconic radio personalities and podcasters in Mzansi. He recently scooped a radio gig at the Kaya959 FM breakfast show alongside Dineo Ranaka. The duo’s breakfast show is making waves as it is one of the most listened to breakfast shows.
However, during the breakfast show, listeners slammed Dineo Ranaka for trying to dim Sol’s light after Sol was seen raising a hand so that Dineo could give him a chance to talk. Sol Phenduka then broke his silence on the Kayak 959 breakfast show debacle, saying people just wanted to badmouth his co-host Dineo Ranaka.
A look at Sol Phenduka’s academic qualifications and the institutions he attended
Sol Phenduka was born in Vosloosrus Gauteng and raised by a single mother. His mother understood the value of education in one’s life and ensured her son had the best education. Sol Phenduka attended St Francis College in Benoni, matriculating in 2006 and passing with good grades. After passing his matric, Sol Phenduka registered for tertiary education at the University of Johannesburg, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree.
Sol Phenduka’s career in the entertainment industry
He began his career at Yfm as an intern through the Y academy program. After completing the 6-month program, he became a co-host on Mo Flava’s newly created ‘Flava In Da Morning’ breakfast show.
Sol hosted the YFM morning show for four years and ditched the show for greener pastures. He joined 5FM’new breakfast show ‘Fresh at 5’ with DJ Fresh after returning from Big Brother Mzansi 3 (South Africa).
Since his breakthrough into the entertainment world, Sol Phenduka has been winning big and shows no signs of slowing down. Currently, he joined Mcgyver Mukwevho on Podcast and Chill with MacG YouTube podcast, where Kaya FM subsequently hired him to co-host the breakfast show.
Music career
Besides being a distinctive radio personality and podcaster Sol Phenduka is also a musician. He released two singles in 2011 and an album in 2012. Lately, he has put his music career on hold, focusing on building a solid career on radio.
