Motsepe was born in a royal family, a prince in the Tswana clan. Growing up, his family was wealthy, and his parents were educated. His parents understood the importance of education in one’s life and ensured their son Patrice had the best education.
He did his primary and secondary school in Pretoria. To be a trophy son to his parents, he studied hard to excel in his education. He passed his matric with flying colours and enrolled for tertiary education at the University of Swaziland, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
After graduating in Swaziland, he moved back to South Africa, and he pursued another degree in Law at the University of Witwatersrand, specializing in mining and business law. He is indeed the epitome of hard work and stops at nothing to be successful.
In 2017 his achievements and contributions to society were recognized, and the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, awarded Patrice Motsepe an honorary doctorate. Since then, his name has changed to Dr Patrice Motsepe.

Motsepe runs a foundation that has given multiple grants for HIV/AIDS research, among other projects. Although he is a multi-millionaire, Motsepe does not enjoy his fortune with his family only, but he ensures that the less privileged people are also catered for. He has a heart of gold and has won the heart of Mzansi with his good deeds.
