Happy Mashiane started his career under a football academy. He started out with the Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development academy in 2015. Happy played with them for a while but he did not remain under the academy for long. After his stint with the Chiefs youth academy, he went to the Tembisa Black Pirates. He played for his birth place team until he got an opportunity to play for the Mamelodi Sundowns Academy.

He was then scouted to the Future Through Football Academy. This is where he perfected his skills as a left-back. However he only played with them for a short while before going for trials for the Kaizer Chiefs. He officially joined the Chiefs in 2020.
