Producer and artist Bhizer, known for his hit song “Gobisiqolo,” has made a significant decision: he is quitting music. Born as Sibonelo Dimba in Newcastle, Bhizer rose to fame with the infectious track featuring award-winning singer Busiswa. However, he now feels it’s time to drop the mic and pursue a different path for the sake of his children.
In his candid statement, Bhizer expressed, “I’ve been pushing myself for the past two years, but I’ve finally come to accept that this is it. My passion for music has waned. To my loyal fans, I apologize, but the love I had when I started making music in 2003 is no longer there.”
Taking care of his kids is Bhizer’s primary motivation for leaving the music scene. He elaborated, “I’m tired of the industry’s obsession with fame. It’s disheartening that 80% of musicians lack genuine talent, and only a mere 10% have financial support. Something’s amiss.”
He urged those who believed in his talent to stop inquiring about new music. “Many artists are silently struggling,” he emphasized. “If you’re passionate about music, have a backup plan or treat it as a hobby.”
Bhizer concluded, “This is it. I love my children too much to linger, hoping for a music industry miracle. There are other important things I need to focus on. I am officially done with music.”
And so, the Gobisiqolo hitmaker bows out, leaving behind a legacy of rhythm and a heartfelt farewell to the stage.
