Shannon Esra went down in the history books as the only South African actress to star on four different soapies as Sandra Stein. No doubt she is that star actress we love to hate. Soft-spoken and humble, she is that star actress we all love to hate.
Esra has been in the game for years, and she has wowed with her unmatched talent. The seasoned actress was born on 14 February 1984 in Cape Town, South Africa. In 2003 she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dramatic Arts at the University of the Witwatersrand.
Just like those before her, she started acting whilst she was young. At the age of four years, she was already making some headlines. However, at the age of 16-years-old, she starred in her first notable role. She starred as Siri in the feature film I dreamed of Africa. After graduating, she bagged a gig on M-Net’s drama series Snitch as Caz O’Donough.
Shannon Esra, the only actress to play Sandra Stein on four different soapies
A few months after her gig on M-Net, she was cast in Isidingo. On the now canned SABC3 drama series, she played the onscreen character of Kyle, Yvette Meyer.
From there, she was cast in Hard Copy, playing the onscreen character of Kim Smollen. However, she has also featured in several series such as Yizo Yizo, Agent, Wild at Heart, and Life is Wild.
However, she went down in the history books when her Sandra Stein was cast on four soapie shows. Sandra Stein is a fierce lawyer and the most sort after. She knows well how to clean the mess and how to get away with any crime on land. The bubbly actress was first cast in The Queen as the Khoza family lawyer.
Her unmatched talent saw her switching the floor to The River as Sandra Stein. In the wake of her gig on The River, she was cast in The Throne. She made her final stop as Stein when she bagged a gig on Mzansi Magics drama series Gomora.
