Generations Samuel Khumalo dumped by wife over abuse
She finally called it quits after years of abuse and she could not take it anymore. A few years ago Thabiso Mokhethi who once played Samuel Khumalo on Generations swore to the media that they had never fought or experienced any form of gender-based violence but it was a lie.
The couple even distanced itself from court papers which flooded the media implicating them in protection order applications.
But now it seems as if it was true after the once couple parted ways. And now it seems as if there was surely fire in that smoke but the couple was good at coming out picture-perfect when it comes to public appearances and all.
The old Generations star actor Samuel Khumalo played by Thabiso Mokhethi was recently served with divorce papers. He indeed confirmed that his wife Gaaratwe Mokhethi served him with some divorce papers. Mokhethi indicated it was his wife who actually pulled the plug from their marriage.
“We have come to an agreement and we have talked about this issue over and over. Honestly, we are doing this for our kids. We will continue to get along because we hold nothing against each other. Well there’s nothing a can do if someone decides to move on without me that’s life and it is what it is,” said Mokhethi.

He was best known for his stellar performance on Generations and he actually made a name for himself with Samuel Khumalo character. On the show, he played brother to Ntombi (Sonia Mbele) and a partner to Sharon (Kagiso Rakosa).
However soon after his exit from Generations, he pursued a presenting career after bagging a role on the Gospel Gold. He later landed a gig on etv’s hit drama series Rhythm City as Musa.
In 2013 things turned south for him when he lost his mother and brother in a horrific accident. His marriage bore it all. The once followed star actor started engaging in drugs and became depressed.
He lost his battle to depression and became violent not only to his wife but also to those around him. According to her wife and her grandmother, they once sought a protection order against him because of his violence.
Since then their marriage has been toxic despite the two putting so much effort to get things back to normal. Her wife had this to say in the wake of their divorce.
Our only priority now is to find a way to co-parent and be the best parents to them. A lot has happened during our marriage and I believe when the things that made you fall in love with someone are no longer there, you leave. We tried our best, but it just didn’t work out, ” she added.
