However, in her new role, she will be playing Goniwe. She will be a political activist who has been of the hook due to exile only to come back after the country has gained freedom. The role seems to be more fun as it different to her other on-screen roles but with her experience and age its a perfect match. Speaking about her role Linda had this to say.
“She’s (Goniwe) someone who wants the best for every South African. She wants to build clinics and schools. She wants every South African to have a better life,” she said.
The seasoned actress was thrilled with the new role as it is a complete opposite of her Isibaya role.
“Lillian was sweet, funny, bubbly, and loving. She also loved relationships,” she said.
Linda is not the only star who has secured a gig on The Estate and almost half of the cast has bagged roles there. She did however wish her former colleagues the best as they embark on new life challenges and opportunities after the cancellation.
“They must persevere because this year is going to be different. Opportunities will come, unlike last year during the start of the pandemic. It was painful to see Isibaya end because we built a family there, but nothing lasts forever,” said Linda.
