Keith Guzah Dies
Former Zanu PF legislator for Hurungwe West and businessman Keith Guzah has died.
Keith Never Guzah who was also the former president of the Affirmative Action Group (AAG), reportedly passed on at his home in Harare after a short illness.
His death was confirmed by Zanu PF legislator and businessman Philip Chiyangwa who spoke to The Herald.
Speaking to the publication Chiyangwa said:
I can confirm that Cde Guzah has passed on at his home after a short illness as there are no prior conditions that I am aware of.
Zanu-PF Mashonaland West provincial chairman Ziyambi Ziyambi also confirmed the former legislator’s death to the publication.
Guzah was at one time married to Zandile Guzah nee Maseko whom he divorced in November 2015 after 24 years, amid claims that both parties have lost affection for each other and their marriage was beyond redemption.
He started his political career with the Affirmative Action Group (AAG) representing the Mashonaland West Province.
Working for an indigenisation group, Guzah had good links with the ZANU-PF leaders in the province and this resulted in him rising with the ranks to become a member of the provincial executive.
In 2015, Guzah successfully won the ZANU-PF primary elections to contest for the vacant Hurungwe West Parliamentary Seat. In the by-election which was held in June 2015, Guzah won the election against former ZANU-PF MP Temba Mliswa.
Earlier in 2013, Guzah had contested and lost the ZANU-PF primaries for Magunje Constituency. He however lost the election. After ZANU-PF Congress of 2014, Guzah was elevated to the position of ZANU-PF provincial chairperson. In the AAG, Guzah was elevated from the position of regional president to president of the AAG.
His son Kevin was accidentally shot twice on the leg during an exchange of gun-fire between a gang of suspected robbers and Chinese nationals in Belgravia suburb.
