Former Umhlobo Wenene FM presenter Lungiswa “Lulu” Haarmans dies. She has been topping trends of late after her untimely death. With just a few days into 2023, Mzansi has been hit by another celebrity death.
Celebrated media personality and former Umhlobo Wenene FM presenter Lungiswa “Lulu” Haarmans died at 41.
Reports have it that he died in the early hours of Friday morning. However, sources have it that she was admitted to a local hospital on Thursday after her health changed. She is best known for her slots like Khanya Gqiyazana between 9-12 pm at the Eastern Cape-based radio station.
With an illustrious career spanning years, she won numerous radio awards while working for the station. A few days ago, she left Mzansi puzzled after she shared a cryptic post that left many wondering.
Taking to social media, she posted that people must constantly watch out for the signs because they may die unexpectedly any day.
Close sources and former colleagues have revealed that Haarmans has been battling an unknown health condition. Rumour mill has it that her underlying health condition worsened after she lost her job at the radio station.
Her world started to fall apart when she was axed in 2019. Many have it that it was an unfair dismissal. The station is said to have fired her after she allegedly missed one of the station’s events. The family is yet to confirm Haarmans’ sudden death.
The late Lulu attended Walter Sisulu University. She commenced her career as a newsreader in the late 1990s with uBuntu Radio before she left to join Radio Grahamstown. Later, she got another opportunity of working with Umhlobo Wenene FM.
To Lulu, radio was a platform to change the world. At a point in time, she said the radio world allows her to achieve her dream with just the touch of a button.
With a passion for social work, the radio industry allowed her to explore her passion with ease. Her untimely death is one of the biggest blows of 2023.
