Former Rhythm City actor David Genaro ‘Jamie Barlett’ returns to Tv
David Genaro, born James Bartlett is one of the few star actors to have graced our television screens and will surely go down in the history books. Former Rhythm City actor David Genaro is now back on our screens after a shocking exit from the daily soapie last year.
It seems as if fortune favours the bold in the wake of a Covid pandemic toll on the entertainment industry and Jamie Barlett has bagged a role on Hillbrow Tv and radio.
Genaro exit from Rhythm City left Mzansi in shock after 13 years of brilliance. He did admit that his exit from Rhythm City was in a bid to spread his wings and it seems he is doing so. No doubt we were all used to his thuggish side and his ruthless on-screen character but his new role on screen is a complete opposite to that.
Genaro will be hosting a show called Hard Topics with Jamie Barlett. Taking it to the media The director of Hillbrow Tv, Hams Hanana had this to say:
“We decided to have Jamie on the show because of his realness and the fact that he likes the truth. So, we, as a media platform, always bring real and raw issues affecting people, especially black people and we feel he knows our struggle and pain.

The producers have faith in Genaro and think he has been through it all and knows better when it comes to topical issues of concern and how we can tackle them. He went on to say that,
He’s a person who always asks the relevant questions. Questions, that get people to always think further. Plus, he grew up around the hood. We are more than happy to have him on our platform. We know we’re going to move mountains.”
The wait is over and we all hope to see the best out of him in his new on-screen chapter. The actor was born in 1966 on the 9th of July. He is best known for his role as the wicked puppet master, David Genaro on Rhythm City. James Bartlett played the character of David Genaro on Rhythm City and he was the untouched villain on the show until his journey with Rhythm City finally came to an end a few months ago.
His character was killed by two of his enemies who were fed up with him making their lives miserable. Fast forward a few months later and he is back with a bang on our screens again.
