One of the biggest scams in Mzansi is luring people with foreign trading scams and cryptocurrency scams. People complain about the self-proclaimed forex goat on gossip pages very frequently. After some time, two people came out and claimed Themba Selahle, also known as xo_grootman on Instagram, scammed them. He no longer responds to your texts after sending him money.

Grootman has three major investment plans for his clients. On the first one, if a person invests R800 and receives a payout of R2000. On the second one, if a person invests R1500 and receives R4500. On the third one, a person invests R2500 and receives R7500. Everyone who invests with him gets a one-off payment, and apparently, these payments only happen on Fridays.

Payday everyday

On his Instagram account, there is an image where he’s holding five bands of R100 notes. There are 11 R100 bands and a Gucci branded wallet on the table. On the location of the image, it’s written ‘ Payday every day ‘. Payday every day could mean Grootman makes money every day. Payday every day could also mean he receives money from people every day. Of course, he threw in an added touch of luxury by putting his foot in a Gucci slipper on the table.

Forex scams and cash

Forex is a digital way of making money. As soon as Mzansi caught on to the money-making method, many people became interested. After this interest, criminals found an opportunity to take advantage of desperate hopevilles. One of the most important things people are constantly told is that you don’t fall for the expensive cars, brands and cash you see on the socials. People are always urged to request an FSP status from their forex trader and a picture of their Identity Document.

Petition to expose Grootman in the media.

A petition is out on Change.org titled, “Stop criminal activities are done by Themba Selahle known as IG: “xo_grootman”. If 1500 people sign the petition, the story can make it to news outlets. Since many people are complaining about the same person and; they seemingly have the screenshots to prove if it’s true, a petition is a good start.

Grootman’s defence over the scamming accusations

Themba says there are a lot of fake accounts in his name owned by scammers to defraud people. He says he’s fighting for people, but scammers, are out to tarnish his reputation. On Instagram, only one person can use a specific handle. If a person has an extra punctuation mark, a number, or an extra letter, the account might be fake. More news will be revealed as the matter goes further.
