Gloria Bosman, a two–time SAMA winner, was a vocalist known for her jazz, African, rock, and gospel music. She was born in Soweto and was a successful producer, composer, and presenter.
Cause of death
Gloria Bosman, an acclaimed jazz and opera singer, sadly passed away on Tuesday, 14 March, at 50. She was returning from a performance when she collapsed at the O. R Tambo International Airport in Gauteng.

Gloria Bosman is no stranger to the stage, having shared it with some of the biggest names in the music industry at home and abroad. These names include Hugh Masekela, Sibongile Khumalo, Moses Molelekwa, Tananas, Sipho Mabuse, Vusi Mahlasela, Sipho Gumede, Oliver Mtukudzi, and Victor Masondo.

Awards
In 2001, Bosman‘s debut album, Tranquillity, earned her a South African Music Award (SAMA) for Best Newcomer and was nominated for Best Contemporary Jazz Album and Best Female. Just a month ago, she was appointed to the Southern African Music Rights Organisation (Samro) board of directors.
GLORIA BOSMAN PERFORMED AT AFRIKAANS MUSIC FESTIVALS
The remarkable talent of the songstress allowed her to make her mark on the Afrikaans music market, appearing in renowned festivals such as KKNK, Aardklop, and Skouspel at Sun City.
According to Sheer Music‘s press release, the Soweto–born artist was also involved in the ‘Al Daai Jazz‘ project, which showcased jazzy rearrangements of classic Afrikaans songs. Peter Tladi, the founder of the Joy of Jazz, has sadly confirmed the singer‘s death, noting that the world will never witness another like her. Her daughter and one grandchild survive her.
