She started by being a performance coach for the Etv Soapie, ‘Rhythm City’, to the director of the Award-winning Telenova, ‘The River’. Ferry was applauded by South African for doing an excellent directing job on 1Magic’s ‘The River’. This came after ‘The River’ walked away with a whopping 10 South African Film and Television Awards at the 2020 (SAFTAs). Moreover, Ferry Jele walked away with the Golden Horn Award for Best Achievement in Directing – Telenovela. In response to the applause, she said, “I am deeply touched and moved by the amount of love everyone has shown me. My timeline brought me to tears. (I am) eternally grateful. Thank you.”
