Faith Mangope arrested for speeding
Savanna News has established that Power FM presenter and businesswoman Faith Mangope was arrested on Friday for speeding.
Faith was allegedly going 163km/h in a 100km/h zone in Sandton. She was arrested and taken to the holding cells of the Sandton police station. Faith was then released on bail. A statement gleaned by a local publication shows that the television and radio personality was caught by a police digital recorder.
Faith was recorded speeding between Woodmead and the M1 south. Police told the publication that Metro police officer notice Faith in her grey Mercedes-Benz going 163km/h in a 100km/h zone. Consequently, she was told to pull over and come out of her car. The officers explained they had requested for her to pull over because she was speeding.
The officer arrested her and went with her to the Sandton SAPS as per SAP 14/88/2020. When contacted for comment, police spokesman Kay Makhubele had not responded at the time of going to print. Faith Mangope had also not responded to inquiries to confirm her arrest for speeding.
Faith Mangope had a stint at YFM and in 2012 she was a moderator for the Steve Biko Foundation Frank Talk Radio Dialogues. She got into radio as an executive producer for shows such as The John Robbie Show, Early Breakfast with Udo Carelse, Afternoon Drive with David O’Sullivan, and Talk at Nine on Talk Radio 702.
A Wits University graduate, Faith is also an MC and has done gigs for City of Johannesburg Women’s Seminar (For Abused Women) and was a Motivational Speaker for the City of Ekurhuleni Women’s Seminar. She was also MC at the National Department of Education’s Youth Program.
