Hotshot lawyer Fadzayi Mahere (pictured) is in a spot of romantic bother after a Twitter dare went awry, sliding her helplessly into a candle-lit dinner with a neurologist who “shot his shot” and professed his love for the eligible bachelorette on the microblogging site.

Dr Lenon Gwaunza had poured out his heart, describing Mahere as “the most beautiful and intelligent” woman he knew. “Just figured I’d shoot my shot,” he added, putting to rest any assumption of platonic intent.
Fadzai Mahere joined the flurry of ensuing banter, promising to go on a date with him if his tweet received a modest 100 retweets. It has since reached 5,500 after Zimbabwe’s Twitter, including opposition MDC leader Nelson Chamisa, joined in backing Gwaunza . Mahere’s democratic credentials now stand in the question after she attempted to reject the outcome. “I don’t trust these doctored figures,” she tweeted in protest. Meanwhile, Cresta Hotels has since “officially requested” to sponsor the two potential lovebirds’ dinner date.
Morning Dr @lgwaunza,
You got a 100 retweets so, as promised, here's your date: 24/04/2020.
If you want a *dinner* date, I challenge you to 2000 retweets. https://t.co/ulU006vaQI
