Fadzayi Mahere has been appointed MDC Alliance spokesperson in a party leadership reshuffle announced by Secretary general Chalton Hwende.
MDC leader Nelson Chamisa elevated the party’s former education and sports secretary Fadzayi Mahere to party spokesperson. She takes over from Hwange Central MP Daniel Molokele. Mahere will be deputised by Felix Mafa.
Fadzayi Mahere expressed delight by being appointed MDC Alliance spokesperson: She posted; Humbled. I take on this responsibility bearing in mind the huge task ahead as the Alliance begins to reshape the narrative. We shall ensure the position of our party in all things political, social & economic is made clear & easily accessible for citizens to understand & partner.
Since joining active politics, Mahere has been loud about challenging the Zanu PF government.
From Independent candidate to MDC Alliance spokesperson
Mahere contested as an independent candidate for Harare East constituency but lost to MDC Alliance Vice President Tendai Biti. She made the decision to join the MDC Alliance as she realised Zimbabweans vote based on party affiliation.
The firebrand young politician recently helped efforts to raise money for front line workers involved int he fight against the covid-19 pandemic through citizen initiatives.
