Norman Mataruka dies: Former Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) Director of Banking Supervision and businessman Norman Mataruka has died of Covid-19 yesterday according to numerous sources reporting on the matter.
Reports also indicate Mataruka was in need of a ventilator but did not manage to get one and was refused admission at Zimbabwe’s largest Parirenyatwa because the hospital was not equipped to assist him.
Former Herald Editor Edmund Kudzayi said as Mataruka’s condition deteriorated, Mangudya tried to get him admitted at Parirenyatwa but doctors said the hospital was so poorly equipped he was better off staying at home.
Mataruka survived by his wife two sons and a daughter. Condolenses messages have been pouring following the news that Norman Mataruka has died.
