eNCA cameraman has died from covid-19 / coronavirus pandemic. Cape Town-based eNCA cameraman Lungile Tom has died of Covid-19-related complications. The cameraman worked in Cape Town. Details are still not clear whether he contracted the virus whilst on duty.
He previously worked as a cameraman for CNBC Africa and also offering technical support from 2007 to 2013 before he joined eNCA in December.

Lungile Tom is one of many unsung professionals apart from healthcare givers who are working tirelessly against the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. Lungile Tom’s death will come as a huge blow to South Africa media as they have been involved on the front line reporting stories and providing information for decision making by the authorities.

eNCA has also been seen as a controversial TV network and is accused of pushing an anti- ANC agenda. Quite recently two TV anchors were suspended after public outcry on the manner they criticized Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and president Cyril Ramaphosa.
