Jabulile Sibisi an Ekurhuleni based woman is desperate to live a normal life due to her breasts size. Her health is deteriorating and is in need to breast reduction surgery.
Despite being on a functional medical aid, the surgery costs are not covered by her medical aid as it is classified under cosmetic procedures.
Ever since puberty Jabulile’s breasts grew at an alarming rate and the condition worsened when she gave birth to her son.
Speaking to ENCA reporter Silindelo Masikane, Jabulile reveals that her breasts are giving her backaches, shortness of breath and pain. The weight of her breasts causes cramps in her hands when she is sleeping. She struggles to find fitting bra sizes hence opts for the available smaller sizes which do not fully support her grown breasts thus causing backaches.
An examination at Tembisa Hospital revealed that her breasts are causing her to develop spinal arthritis.
“My breasts are giving me backaches, shortness of breath and as time goes on, the intensity is increasing,” she said
“Sometimes when I am sleeping it causes me to have cramps in my hands. It’s been so hard. I constantly have headaches and l live on painkillers.”
Jabulile wishes to work hard and provide for her son which only possible after a breast reduction surgery. She struggles to work due to the back pains and troubled by community discrimination as people make fun of her
Dr Kenneth Sewapa a plastic surgeon confirms that breast reduction surgery is the only way out for troubled Jabulile to return to normalcy.
