Ekurhuleni Ward 45 ANC councilor Makhosi Lehari is fingered in a church donated food parcel looting scam. He allegedly looted food parcels donated by a local church in Vosloorus. The donation by controversial Pastor Alpha Lukau the founder and overseer of Alleluia Ministries International was allegedly looted by ward 45 Ekurhuleni councilor.
Witnesses revealed that the councillor of the NC George Makhubela Branch (Ward 45 Ekurhuleni), loaded mealie meal and food parcels that was meant for the vulnerable and shared spoils with close friends and ANC supporters.

‘These leaders are a bunch of scams. It’s a sad situation when those who are supposed to protect us starts exploiting us. The councilor was approached by the local church to distribute food parcels across his ward to vulnerable people despite political affiliation. The councillor just distributed to known ANC supporting families and loaded the rest in his bakkie and truck. We saw his truck and bakkie parked near Bopang-Kgotso Primary. Lehari must be investigated and brought to book, said the witness.
The community express gratitude towards the Pastors donation but emphasized on a more transparent distribution of donations. They also show concerns over the distribution of the R350 unemployment social grant which they blame the government for taking long to distribute while people are suffering.
