Eastern Cape teacher killed and eaten by a cow
The year 2021 is bringing even more mysteries as a cow kills and eats up body parts of Zininzi Mthethandaba, a teacher from Eastern Cape. “It’s as if somebody is telling me a myth or legend,” 53-year-old Ludidi from Mdeni in Qumbu, Eastern Cape, speaks on the teacher’s death.
“At my age I’ve come to accept that there’s nothing new under the sun. I thought I couldn’t be surprised anymore, but this is totally different. This is something we’ve never seen before,” she adds. Although some animal health experts attest to Ludidi that anything is possible when an animal is diseased, this is one hard pill to swallow.

“We’ll wait for the Department of Agriculture to tell us what happened before we start thinking about evil spirits,” says Ludidi. The Grade 3 teacher at Ncothi Senior Primary School in Qumbu’s death is a big blow for the school. “The pupils who live around here are still struggling to believe their teacher is no more,” says Mjanyelwa who is the school’s principal.
“I’ve never seen a human being eaten by a cow, but when this happened last week I was there personally. I saw it myself. With the body parts lying all over,” he adds. Zinzini was buried on Saturday and masses are still in shock and are wondering how a cow could eat a human being.
“The cow is in a safe place and officials are going to come here by next week,” Ludidi tells the People’s Paper.
