Long serving Uganda President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has left the world in stitches after accusing drunkards of spreading corona virus because of their speaking habits.
Museveni was addressing the nation of Uganda about the measures his government was taking to enable the East African nation to prevent the spread of the deadly virus.
Museveni says drunkards are a danger to themselves. Watch Video below:
“Drunkards sit close to one another. They speak with saliva coming out of their mouth. They are a danger to themselves. All these are suspended for a month,” says Museveni in part of his speech. “We have taken measures even before the corona virus reaches here. We have decided that schools close as early as 20 March 2020. All gatherings are going to be banned. We realised that gatherings are perfect grounds for new infections therefore we should move early to avoid the stampede,” he continued.
Museveni’s utterances follow the earlier speech by Uganda Minister of Health Robinah Nabbanja who warned Ugandans that Uganda is not able to cope with Corona Virus given China a larger economy is struggling to contain the pandemic. “Stay where you are, if you are in Uganda, stay in Uganda, if you are in China, don’t come back home. If China, a large economy is having propblems with Corona Virus, what do you think about Uganda,” she said, attracting giggles from the listening audience.
She said she was shocked to realise Ugandans still want to go to China.
“I met the Chinese ambassador to Uganda, who said his office is full of 200 people who want visas to go and buy merchandise in China. In China there is no public transport. Now our people want to go to business in China,” Robinah Nabbanja said
The State Minister for health in-charge of general duties Robinah Nabbanja has advised Ugandans to refrain from travelling to China to avoid contracting the Coronavirus.
