Despite his struggles with SARS, Dr Malinga has declined assistance from Ambitiouz Entertainment. Despite being in financial trouble, Malinga responded to a quote tweet from the well-known record label on Twitter by politely declining their offer. Ambitiouz Entertainment posted that they could begin drafting Dr Malinga a contract. Malinga replied, “I still have the bottle you gave me for winning a SAMA Award. Thanks, bye.” After refusing to enter into any agreement with Ambitiouz Entertainment, Dr Malinga is once again the talk of the town.

Many South Africans do not want Dr Malinga to sign with the record label Ambitiouz Entertainment. Many artists who were previously signed to the brand have publicly stated that the label does not pay them enough for their work. They do not even give them their royalties.
