Gomora lead actor Don Buthelezi fired
No doubt he is that star actor we all hate to love. He has been gracing our screens for years, and we can’t get enough of him. Israel Matseke Zulu is a seasoned South Africa actor best known for his notorious role as GP on Gaz’lam on the SABC1 drama series.
He starred in the drama series for four years. However, from there, he starred in several series. He marked his return on small screens after going awol when he bagged a gig on Mzansi Magic’s soapie opera Gomora.
However, in the wake of his new gig, the seasoned actor revealed that he has always been a part of the drama series since its interception in 2020.
Taking it to the media, Zulu indicated that he was working behind the scenes. However, he made all sorts of headlines when he was cast as Don Buthelezi, Teddy’s father.
However, in the mix of things, Mzansi hasn’t been impressed by his on-screen character despite being our favourite. We can all agree that Gomora has been making all sorts of headlines with its exciting storyline and starstudded cast.
Since his debut on Gomora, Don has been more than trouble. He has a thuggish behaviour that has wowed Mzansi, but his Don character has struck a wrong note that has seen his character being axed.
Yes, rumour has it that Don has been shown the exit door by the showrunners barely a few months after his gig. The reasons behind his exit are yet known at the moment. According to teasers, he will be axed this month.

But what really made him so unpopular on the drama series that has been making all sorts of headlines of late. Well, his storyline has been said to be privy to his exit.
When he was cast, he was nothing but trouble. His first encounter was to destroy his baby mama’s affair. As if that was enough, he went after Mam’ Sonto and even shot her to establish his territory in the carjacking trade. After being kicked out by his baby mama, Don went after Mam’Sonto’s daughter and even tried to tag along with Teddy in his carjacking business, but he hit a dead end.
Since Don rejected Mazet, she has been trying all that she might deem necessary to get rid of him. Well, her plans seem to have foiled even the poisoning. According to teasers Mazet and Don will wrestle for the gun, which will be triggered, and Don will be shot whilst Mazet will also suffer from the incident.
On the other hand, Doctor Molamu reveals that Mazet will never walk again. However, in the mix of things, Sibongile will connect the dots and discover who killed Don.
Feelings are all over the place as Ntokozo blames Melusi for Mazet being in hospital. Also, will Sibongile struggle to come to terms with Don’s death? However, despite the teasers saying otherwise, the showrunners are yet to confirm the exit of Don Buthelezi ‘Israel Matseke- Zulu’ from Gomora.
