DJ Fresh and Euphonik get cancelled amid rape allegations
The formidable pair continues to duck blows left, right and center since the rape allegations are made against them. DJ Fresh and Euphonik‘s ordeal has been the talk of the town for a while now and it has led to the demise of their radio career. A woman recently accuses the radio presenters of rape which sees the duo discontinuing public performances until proven innocent.
Issuing out a statement on the 16th of January this year, DJ Fresh posts on his Twitter:
In light of the serious allegations put against us we have made a decision to step away from all public work engagements until such time that this matter has been resolved and the law has taken it’s course.

Yesterday, Primedia releases a statement relieving DJ Fresh and Euphonik from their radio duties much to everyone’s surprise:

Johannesburg – Primedia Broadcasting can confirm that, after careful consideration of the events of the last few weeks, the company has decided to release DJ Fresh and Euphonik from their contracts. Their last shows on 947 were aired on 15th January and 10th January 2021 respectively.
“This decision does not reflect a view on the veracity of any allegations against either Euphonik or Fresh. Rather it prioritizes Primedia Broadcasting’s business imperatives. We believe that this decision is in the best interest of our company and our various stakeholders,” says Crwys-Williams.
While the duo’s names are still not cleared, they release a statement stating that they will be resuming public work engagements as they can not find common ground with Primedia.

I believe in the principle of innocent until proven guilty but it was sheer arrogance on your part to want to proceed with your public duties amidst such serious allegations. Your priority should have been to clear your names first.
