A new telenovela, The Estate, is coming through to replace Isidingo on SABC 3 with some of Mzansi’s favourite actors including Dineo Langa.
The Estate has been confirmed as replacement for the much loved SABC 3 soapie, Isidingo, a year after the show was cancelled. Production is in progress and The Estate will air in April 2021 although the exact date hasn’t been published yet. Clive Morris Productions will be at the helm of the production. The production company is also behind Isono, Broken Vows and Ashes to Ashes. Acting SABC spokesperson Mmoni Seapolelo released a statement announcing the new show.
Dineo Langa to star in The Estate, replacing Isidingo
He said, “the Estate will debut in April 2021 and the public will be notified in due course on the exact date the show will launch on the channel. The show will deal with themes such as the land issue, issues of identity, truth vs lies, corruption and its consequences, secrets that refuse to remain buried and other social issues that have relevance and resonance in the current state of SA. Love is also one of the major themes of the show – and the show explores love in its many forms – from new love to complicated love triangles to the intricacies of keeping love alive in a relationship and the death of love and redefining yourself when love is lost.”
The Estate will be Dineo Langa’s big project after leaving The Queen last year. Joining her will be Don Mlangeni who played Zebedee Matabane on Isidingo, Zenokuhle Maseko, The River’s Mbali, Isibaya’s Sdumo Mtshali, Aubrey Poo, Linda Sebezo, Clementine Mosimane and among Mzansi’s favourites.
The show will present the economic battle of the elite, the middle class and the working class; a show to relate to. The aim is to address multiple issues faced by the ordinary South African in their day to day life.
