Diepsloot Set To Replace Isibaya After It Was Axed On Mzansi Magic
Mzansi Magic’s long-running drama series Isibaya has finally come to an end. The show which spanned for seven years will be bidding farewell to our screens early this year.
We will surely miss the thrills and the drama that came along with the soapie which was set in the backdrop of the taxi industry.
But the curtain is now closing on the popular telenovela and it will be replaced by a new production called Diepsloot. Last year the drama series made headlines after it was announced that it was going to be axed from Mzansi Magic.
The show is definitely going off-air soon as it’s the last season. The cast and crew were informed last year that the show is being scrapped over poor ratings.
Rumour has it that it was canned due to low ratings after it failed to make the top 10 repeatedly. Sadly in a few weeks to come, Isibaya will be a thing of the past. Mzansi Magic decided to pull off the plug after a slump in viewership from the soapie.
Diepsloot Set To Replace Isibaya After It Was Axed On Mzansi Magic
According to the Daily Sun, it’s a done deal and Isibaya is going to be replaced by Diepsloot. It seems as if Diepsloot is scoring big even before its debut.
The news series found itself trending after it lured Dawn Thandeka King from Uzalo. As if that’s not enough the new development of securing a slot on Mzansi Magic seems to be another win.
As of now, Isibaya will be airing it’s last episodes as Diepsloot is reportedly winding up their production. Diepsloot drama series was produced by Black Brain Productions. The production company is well known for producing master-class series such as Side Dish and Lockdown.
