No doubt she has been making all sorts of headlines after she allegedly dumped Phalaphala FM just after eight days. Rumour mill has it that the bubbly actress Vele Manenje was shown the exit door after listeners complained about her slot.
The celebrated actress has weighed into the daring rumours to clear the air in the mix of things. Manenje has it that she was not fired as alleged but called it quits because she couldn’t juggle her acting gigs and on-air slots.
However, she made it clear that she was finding it hard to balance her recurring gigs and raising a child. The bubbly actress revealed her reasons behind her exit and thanked Mzansi for supporting her career paths.
“For those of you who do not know, I am a new mum and having to navigate between three TV programmes and a radio slot was becoming strenuous on me. With that being said, I have to bow out of the breakfast show and focus more on my recurring commitments. @phalaphalafm_officialpage still remains my home, and the door is wide open for any further collaborations between the two brands. Thank you for opening your hearts and homes to me every morning.”
Speaking to the Daily Sun, the actress further explained her typical day. No doubt she has been juggling several gigs that required her to be around always.
“I left because I couldn’t cope with my workload. When I took the job, I thought everything would be smooth but I was wrong. It was challenging, especially with a newborn.
“I had to leave my baby at 4 am every day. I discussed this with the radio management and I left on a good note. The door is still open for me. I’m not completely gone, I’ll still be around,” she said.
