Dawn Thandeka King has been making all sorts of headlines of late after going awol on small screens. She dumped her lead role on South Africa’s most-watched drama series for DiepCity, but the bubbly actress Dawn Thandeka King is rumoured to be returning to KwaMashu. The celebrated stars as Mashenge on DiepCity.
However, she hasn’t been gracing our screens for months now, and we tend to wonder if she is still part of the star-studded cast of DiepCity. Unlike in Uzalo, the seasoned actress stars as a domestic worker. She happens to be the of Nox (Nozuko Ncayiyane) and Lungile (Luyanda Shezi) and is married to Bonga (Hamilton Dlamini).
We can all agree that she disappeared after having a leg fracture a few months ago, but she is still yet to make her much-talked-about return. Rumour mill has it that the actress feels betrayed after receiving less than she thought. Of interest is the fact that she is not even appearing in any teasers of the drama series.
Black Brains Pictures saw itself trending of late after it was revealed that it was underpaying its cast and giving its lead cast at least R350 per day.

However, the fee happens to be lesser than the industry’s standards. In the wake of these daring rumours, it is believed that a host of actors are set for a mass exodus from the drama series.
To make matters of late, she has been rumoured for Uzalo return. However, the showrunners of Uzalo even fueled the rumour when they revealed that they were full of surprises and were always ready to take in the former cast.
Mzansi was more than convinced that Dawn Thandeka King could be the one in the mix of things. Despite having a dramatic exit from Uzalo, the showrunners insisted that she might have the last dance implying that she could return.
The celebrated actress has managed to wow Mzansi with her unmatched flair, and her fame came in the backdrop of her Lockdown on-screen character of Mazet. Dawn Thandeka King had a shot at stardom in 2012 when she starred in Mzansi Magic’s telenovela Inkaba.
