Denise Zimba recently testified in court, shedding light on the reasons behind her separation from her estranged husband, Jakob Schlichtig. The television actress, known for her role in “Generations: The Legacy,” shared several key points in her affidavit:
Parental Dispute
Zimba is currently keeping their two children in South Africa against Schlichtig’s wishes. She claims that he failed to prioritize their well-being and even refused to buy a plane ticket for her mother to visit and assist with childcare.
Infidelity Allegations
Zimba accused Schlichtig of having an extramarital affair. She discovered him engaging in inappropriate behavior while texting another woman. When confronted, he allegedly defended his actions, stating that he couldn’t be in a marriage that restricted his personal choices.
Emotional Abuse
According to Zimba, Schlichtig emotionally abused her by belittling her financial situation and suggesting that she would never find a better partner due to having two children.
Depression and Coping
Zimba suffered from depression during their marriage, exacerbated by the challenges of raising their children alone. She returned to South Africa to seek support from her mother, as Schlichtig allegedly provided little assistance.
Living Arrangements
Contrary to Schlichtig’s claim that they intended to live permanently in Germany after their wedding, Zimba clarified that their stay there was temporary due to Schlichtig’s mother’s illness. They own a house in Cape Town, emphasizing their long-term commitment to South Africa.
The court case continues, with Zimba opposing Schlichtig’s application to have their children returned to Germany.
