Supersport United has announced the departure of Bafana Bafana International and Club captain Dean Furman. The club legend had made it clear he wanted to leave at the end of this season, and with the season suspended indefinitely due to covid-19, the club and player decided to end their relationship earlier.

SuperSport United FC would like to confirm the departure of Bafana Bafana international and club captain Dean Furman with immediate effect. In his five-season spell at the club, Furman has led Matsatsantsa to seven cup finals which include 4 championships, two Nedbank Cup back to back & two MTN 8 trophies. Three runners up medals, the Telkom Knock-out, MTN 8 and a historic CAF Confederations Cup.
SuperSport United CEO, Stan Matthews said “Dean will go down as one of our all-time great midfielders and captains. He has led us to 7 Cup Finals and delivered us 4 Trophies and 5 consecutive Top 8 finishes.”
