Crisis, Did Gomora actors Melusi Dlamini ‘Zolisa Xaluva’ and Buhle ‘Ama Qamata’ exit Gomora?
The Mzansi magic flagship soap opera Gomora is the latest production hit by the exit of the main characters. After Generations The Legacy lost Vusi Kunene, Rapulana Seiphemo, Vuyo Dabula and Letoya Makhene, all who left for greener pastures, Gomora fans are scared by the looming departure.
Is Ama Qamata and Zolisa Xaluva exiting Gomora?
Towards the end of Gomora Season 2, Ama Qamata, who played the role of Buhle Ndaba, disappeared from the screens after overhearing her uncle Phumlani ordering a hit. Buhle tried to contact her mother, Thathi, to warn her about how dangerous Phumlani was; she was kidnapped and held MJay, her uncle’s hitman. After two seasons on Gomora, reliable sources revealed that the young actress Ama Qamata left the cast to explore other opportunities. Though she bagged the leading role on the Netflix series Blood and Water, where she plays Puleng, Ama looks beyond the borders. A source revealed that she sets her eyes toward Hollywood.
“She recently begged an Adidas multi-million deal and has become a centre of attention from foreign movie directors looking to tap into the South African market. Ama received a lot of lucrative offers overseas, and she considered one of them.”
Gomora has recently come under fans’ scrutiny after a legion of fans complained over the hanging storylines. Their demise looks certain after Zolisa Xaluva is believed to be exiting the cast through arrest. Xaluva plays the role of Principal Melusi Dlamini, who was caught in a love triangle with his childhood lover Thathi and Gladys, his wife. Though Melusi played a formidable and well-respected figure in the community, Gomora fans reveal that he carried the soapie in Season 2 after being allowed to be vulnerable on many occasions.
Melusi wrecked his marriage with Gladys to chase after Thathi, who was married to Phumlani. After causing havoc in Phumlani’s marriage, he killed him and surrendered himself to the police after a hostage ordeal.
The legendary actor remains mum about exiting Gomora; according to sources closer to the legendary creative, he is billed to be cast in an upcoming big project in Mzansi filming.
The recent Gomora Season 3, May teasers further fueled their exit rumour as the pair was not mentioned.
