Confirmed: Umbuso actor Sphamandla Dhludhlu ‘Mothusi’ bids farewell to the show
Sphamandla Dhludhlu has been making waves since Umbuso premiered on Mzansi Magic, playing the role of Mothusi. He played the role of a cheating husband and abusive man to perfection, and he earned himself one of the most hated actors onscreen.
In recent weeks his abusive nature was growing, and his relationship with an underage was getting serious. At some point, he was bound to get caught by someone close to them and get punished for his crimes. Caeser is the one who caught them, and the information got passed to Bridget, who then gave it to Mothusi’s father-in-law.
An angry MaE seeks justice in the most illegal ways as he gives his right-hand man an order to kill Mothusi. However, Lihle finds out about the plan and finds Mike torturing her husband, which she puts a stop to. She sends him divorce papers, and they run him out of town, which he easily complies with since he doesn’t want to die.
Sphamandla Dhludhlu announces his exit from Umbuso
Many viewers were not sure whether that was the last time that Mothusi would appear on the show or not. However, today, Sphamandla Dhludhlu shared his farewell to the show on his Instagram page. He shared a video from when Mike was torturing him while he was tied with his hand on top of his head in his post.
Sphamandla thanked the production team and his agency for making it happen that he was part of the crew. Most importantly, he thanked his fans for their continued support and watched and following his work. His former colleagues wished him well in his next endeavours in his comment section.
