Confirmed: Pearl Thusi fired from BET’s Behind The Story after 4-years
With its new season slated for a few weeks to come BET’s Behind The Story showrunners have fired Pearl thusi with immediate. However, the reasons behind her exit are still unknown as of now. Well her exit comes barely after 4 years of successfully hosting the show.
According to Entertainment commentator Phil Phela, Nomalanga Shozi will be replacing Pearl as the new host of Behind The Story.
“Season 5 of Behind The Story starts in October with Nomalanga Shozi as the new host,” Phil tweeted
He also applauded the channel for its efforts to elevate Nomalanga’s career all these years.
“Gotta commend BET for sticking with Nomalanga Shozi. Viacom or whoever handles talent at BET Africa has put their full support behind her. Shem, they plug the lady. She was even on Isono. She does all BET events coverage, etc. Reminds me of what SABC1 used to do for its talent”
Sharing the exciting news on her social media platforms, Nomalanga said she is where she is today because of hard work. She tweeted:
You’ll know my story in due time. For now, just know it wasn’t easy and I worked. Hard.

However, in the mix of things Pearl Thusi also took to Twitter to congratulate Nomalanga on her new gig.
” So excited for @RealNomalanga and wish her and the show nothing but the best,” tweeted Pearl.
Well, not so long ago Pearl Thusi made all sorts of headlines. It seems as if Pearl does not shy away from celebrating other females in the industry.
A few days ago, she penned a heartwarming post on Instagram congratulating Skeem Saam star and TV presenter Amanda DuPont on her brand new business venture.
She wrote:
