Church Bishop rapes congregant, impregnates the victim and tries to abort four times
A Church Bishop from Penhalonga is in trouble for impregnating one of his congregants and allegedly trying to terminate the pregnancy of four different occasions. The victim Ms Lince Siiwa gave birth to a son who is now 10 months old.
Bishop Nathan Tafadzwa Gwenyaya of Rock Foundation tabernacle also stands accused of abandoning his son. The married Bishop has three children with his wife. Rock Foundation Tabernacle was formed in 2018 by Bishop Gwenyaya and his family.
Ms Lince Siiwa took her case to the courts demanding $25 000 monthly maintenance from the man of God. However, on Wednesday the court settled a monthly maintenance of $11 000.
In an interview with Manica Post, Ms Siiwa reports that when she realised and informed the Bishop about the pregnancy, Bishop Gwenyaya paid some people to facilitate the termination of her pregnancy on four different occasions. She also says that during one of the termination attempts she almost died.

Seeing that the abortion attempts were failing, Bishop Gwenyaya ordered Ms Siiwa to lie to her family that she had been raped by some strangers. In fear of the Bishop and her family, Lince lied to her family. Unfortunately there were no suspects and the issue just died down. On the other hand the Bishop was free and happy he had swept his mess under the rug.
“Bishop Gwenyaya used to come to collect me from our place on the pretext that we would visit other members of the church. He would drive me to Vumba, where he forcibly kissed and hugged me. He would force himself on me and it eventually happened. A few weeks later I discovered I was pregnant.”
“Upon receiving the news the Bishop engaged his colleagues to abort the pregnancy but it failed. After a week he tried again and it failed but this time I almost died from the procedure. This happened on four different occasions,” said Ms Lince.
When Ms Lince finally gave birth she had to come clean and tell her sisters the truth about the father of the baby. Her sisters forced the Bishop to pay the hospital bills and be part of the baby’s life. At first the Bishop would adhere but with time he stopped communication and blocked Ms Siiwa and her family.
