Chinamasa tests positive for Covid-19
A positive Covid-19 test result slip belonging to Mr Patrick A Chinamasa has been circulating on social media. This is news that has shocked and hurt a lot of Zimbabweans.
Mr Patrick Chinamasa is a Zimbabwean politician and a member of the ZANU-PF party. He has served in the Government of Zimbabwe as the minister of many cabinet ministries. Mr Chinamasa has served as the Minister of Finance and Investment Promotion and the Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs.

The Covid-19 infections keep increasing and 22 deaths have been registered in the last 24 hours. These are large numbers and different stakeholders are encouraged to play their part in fighting this virus. Law enforcers are so playing their part. Some popular citizens are taking to social media the trend #MaskUpZim, so that people take care of themselves in a way to help fight the pandemic.
985 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours and the rate of infection keeps increasing on a daily basis. Of these cases 984 are local and 1 is a returnee from Zambia. The national recovery rate stands at 62.4%.

The situation in Zimbabwe hospitals is not pleasing due to lack of PPE, resources and machinery. Recently nurses at Harare Hospital refused to work because they felt abandoned by not having proper effective protective clothing. This was after the matron at the hospital had died of Covid-19.
There is a picture making rounds on social media of a health worker standing next to scotch-cart labelled ambulance. This has shown the extent of lack of resources in the health sector. With many rushing to condemn the authorities, this has shed light on why people should be extra cautious and play their part in fighting the spread of Covid-19.
However, some Zimbabweans are still ignorant to the existence and brutality of this virus and this has negatively affected the situation by worsening the infection rates.
