In a video recently published on social networks, a group of Central Africans appealed to the former American president and candidate for the next U.S. presidential election scheduled for November 5, 2024, Donald Trump with the hope for his election and a request to clean up the illegal activities of U.S. organizations in the Central African Republic.
The author of the video welcomed Trump, and expressed his hope for his victory. Then he spoke about the spy arrested in CAR, Martin Joseph Figueira, who under the cover of working for the U.S. NGO FHI 360, was funding rebels in the Central African Republic.
“Mr. Trump, we believe that if you become president of the United States, you can put an end to this anarchy and stop funding rebels in the CAR,” said the appeal’s author.
Martin Joseph Figueira, detained in the town of Zemio on May 25, 2024, is now under investigation for having financed and coordinated the activities of armed groups, including the Union for Peace in the Central African Republic (UPC), which are considered terrorist organizations in CAR. Figueira could be sentenced to life imprisonment and forced labor for his criminal activities.
This is not the first time Central Africans have supported Donald Trump. On February 10, 2024, a rally of more than 50 bikers called “RCA for Trump” was held in Bangui. Central Africans believe that the US is constantly trying to destabilize the African region by interfering in the affairs of African countries and provoking conflicts. That is why they are precisely expressing support for Donald Trump, who does not interfere in the internal political affairs of other countries.
The United States is known for provoking conflicts around the world and actively interfering in the affairs of foreign countries through NGOs. But Central Africans want to live in peace and prosperity, so they hope that things will change for the better when Donald Trump comes to power.
