Muvhango, despite losing views, has been going strong for 25years now, and that may be because they change storylines when things get boring. The show is holding silver jubilee celebrations, and some of its old cast members have been joining the show for recent storylines. New faces are also joining the crew as they diversify their storylines, and we are about to see more new faces as Word of Mouth put out an open casting call for auditions for new actors to join the show.
The show started 25 years ago and was unique as it was the first Venda show to be televised on national television. With their plot expanding, the show began to embrace people from different cultures and all the languages in South Africa. The show was famous for letting people see the beauty of the culture of the Venda people of Limpopo province.
Muvhango is looking for actors to join their crew
Some cast members on this show have been with it since its inception, like Maumela Mahuwa, who plays Susan. The show producers have opened their doors to new talent, and many actors have debuted their careers on the show. The show is famous for wanting educated actors to be part of its cast. Its cast is one of the most learned cast crews in Mzansi, as most people hold degrees.
Muvhango auditions
Taking to their official Instagram page, Muvhango showrunners put up an advertisement as they call people to audition for two roles to be introduced in the show. The show is looking for two male and female actors to join their prestigious cast. The male actor should be aged between 30 and 40 years, and he will take on the role of Farisani. The female part is for someone over 50 years of age, and she will take on the role of Azwi.
Where to audition
The auditions will be held on the 8th of September at Phalaphala FM in Polokwane at 9 am. The next day on the 9th of September, the team will carry more auditions in Thohoyandou at MGB Hotel in Sibasa at 9 am.
Muvhango has trended before as people accused the showrunners of hiring actresses based on looks. The females who have joined the show in recent years have been beautiful and with curvy bodies. This made Mzansi assume that they were being hired because of how they look, not based on talent. However, these rumours were rubbished as people realized that the cast members are all educated. So they deserve the opportunity like many others.
