Cassper Nyovest on Creating Hit Music Again
In 2022, Cassper Nyovest saw great success in his business ventures. He established and pioneered celebrity boxing matches in South Africa, his alcoholic beverage Billiato gained its first ambassador, and he revamped his merchandise line Roof of Fame. Despite his flourishing business ventures, Cassper’s musical career seemed to ebb. All of his music releases in 2022 fizzled out as quickly as they were released. As reported:
Cassper Nyovest promised that his upcoming album was touted as a Hip-Hop album. He even suggested that this album will see him return to focusing on writing bars. A fact which surprised many considering the amount of slack he receives for his penmanship of late.
As such, he began the rollout for the album through attempting “unconventional” releases. First, it was the surprise release of his lead single Put Your Hands Up. While Cassper suggested on social media that the single was instrumental in reviving Hip-Hop as it did initially climb the Apple Music charts. Anyone who can say they remember the song today, is clearly a Cassper fan.

In response to growing criticism, Cassper Nyovest focused on producing a hit. His fans believe that this time around, he may have succeeded in creating a hit song.

In March 2023, Cassper Nyovest was less active on Twitter than usual. He returned to the platform to confirm that he had been at a music workshop working on new Hip-Hop music. After a recent performance where he shared a snippet of his new music, it seems that Cassper is ready to reveal what he was working on. As promised, it is Hip-Hop, and fans anticipate another classic from the rapper.
Cassper Nyovest’s fans are excited about his upcoming track, tentatively titled Bashimane Baka. The track’s lyricism, which infuses Kwaito elements and features isiZulu rhymes, has led fans to believe it will be a hit.

It is currently unknown when Cassper Nyovest’s new single will be released. He will not have to worry about comparisons to his late music rival AKA if it is a hit. AKA’s last album, Mass Country, is nominated for the upcoming SAMAs. If Cassper’s album is released and considered for nomination, it will only be eligible for next year’s awards.
