Refusing to despair, the search for the fourth child goes on until after 2am this morning. “The body of the “unaccounted” fourth child was found at around 2.20am on Tuesday,” he adds.
The accident occurs after a sand dune collapses on the four children along the N2 at the Borcherds Quarry Road intersection in Nyanga, Cape Town. Speaking on the search Carelse adds, “Search operations are still continuing as there are reports of a fourth person being unaccounted for. Fire and rescue services and the K9 unit active at the scene. Authorities suspect that the children’s underground trap occurs after sand they play on collapses on them.”
With the ongoing rains a lot of accidents are claiming people’s lives. Roads are collapsing and rivers overflowing therefore people are to exercise extra caution. Investigations are still ongoing to find out the exact cause of deaths. The Nyanga area is murder infested and all possibilities have to be considered regarding these children’s deaths.
