Candice Modiselle bags a new gig on The Queen
Fortune favours the bold and Candice Modiselle big wins can attest to that. She is well known for keeping it cool and making her success make noise.
Well, the star actress is the latest addition to the seasoned cast of The Queen. After her exit from Generations: The Legacy in 2019, Candice’s year-long TV hiatus has ended with her gig on The Queen.
She joins a host of a seasoned cast which include Connie Ferguson, Rapulana and SK Khoza. However little is known about her on-screen character but we can all agree that drama and thrills await. Of late, The Queen has bolstered its cast with star actors after it was dethroned by Gomora as one of the most-watched soapies on DStv.
The news of her big-money move was heralded by her sister Bontle Modiselle. Bontle took it to social media to share the news.
“My baby Candie Modiselle joins #TheQueenMzansi this week! You’re back on our Congratulations baby!! Rock it!”
Despite being off the screen for a while Modiselle indicated that she was thrilled and excited about her new gig. Also taking to social media, the star announced she will be joining the cast as Mbali Tau, a tenacious young woman with a whole lot of drama!

Taking it to the media seasoned media personality said she is keen to be back on our screens, and would not have missed the opportunity to join The Queen for anything in the world.
“I’ve been away from mainstream television for a while. I worked on other projects throughout 2020 and I thought it would make such a good return. The character was endearing and it’s widely watched and celebrated so I thought it would be a missed opportunity if I didn’t jump in headfirst,” said Candice.
She was best known for her stellar performances on Generations. The bubbly actress is well known for her role as Lerato Matema on Generations. Candice starred as Lerato for 3 years, before leaving in 2019, explaining that she wanted to invest more time in her company Busetsa Media.
“I plan on leaving no stone unturned. Though I have taken a slight break from acting to focus on my youth skills development company, Busetsa Media, I hope to make a return to theatre, devise my own work, venture into the big screen and all mediums of the arts and storytelling,” she said.
