The church is marketing the applications telling christians that subscribers will be able to access Bushiri and pray with him for breakthroughs and healing miracles.
“Do you need a prayer for healing, breakthrough from Major 1? Distance is not a barrier. listen to Major 1, the most inspiring prophet of our times on Prophet Bushiri’s Major 1 Connect app,” reads part of the promotional campaigns made by the church’s publicity department.
Bushiri a controversial character
The Malawi born controversial preacher leads a large church in the administrative capital of South Africa Pretoria. He is not a stranger to making headlines for the wrong reasons. Earlier this month he was accused of fleecing his followers by asking for money during the lockdown online services. He displays the church’s bank account during his sermons whilst constantly encouraging listeners to transfer money into the church’s Nedbank account.
He has also been accused of performing fake miracles during his televised services most notably the one which he purported to have captured a picture of a baby in the spirit using his ipad. It turned out that he scrolled the picture from his gallery, see video below:
