Former Generations actress ‘Queen Moroka‘ Sophie Ndaba is topping trends after her Johannesburg mansion was repossessed. She has been making all sorts of headlines of late with her drama. Celebrated actress Sophie Ndaba is counting losses after her lavish Johanessburg mansion was sold after she failed to service her bond with Mercantile Bank.
It seems like there is trouble in paradise for the bubbly actress battling sugar diabetes for years. Confirmed reports have it that the actress bought the mansion for more than R2.2-million back then in October 2021. The auction came into effect after she struggled to keep up with her monthly instalments.
Mercantile Bank was given the nod by the Johannesburg High Court a fortnight ago to sell the mansion. Reports have it that she failed to settle over R1-million shortfall from the proceeds of the sale of her home. In the mix of things, the bank is set to repossess some of its assets to recoup the whopping deficit.
According to court documents that have since flooded social media, Ndaba and her company, Sophla Trading, obtained an R2.2-million home loan from the bank.
Ndaba and her company were required to pay R22 347 monthly instalments for 240 months. But the former Generations actress failed to honour the contract when she defaulted and was more than R80 000 in arrears.
However, this is not the first time she has been implicated in bank repossession woes. Back then, in 2021, another bank served her with repossession papers for her Hyundai Mighty workhorse truck after she failed to keep up with the instalments. The car was used to transport equipment for her events management company, Sophia Trading (PTY) Ltd.
However, she has yet to share her side of the story in the mix of things. A few months ago, she was making all sorts of headlines after a nasty fallout with her estranged husband, Lichaba. The two ugly fallout spilt to the public as the two took jabs against each other on social media. The court papers read that Lichaba is also expected to hand over vehicles such as a Mercedes-Benz CLK 500 Cabriolet, a Hyundai four-tonne truck, some furniture and other minor items to Ndaba.
The bubbly actres has been married not once, not twice, but thrice and all the marriages resulted in nasty divorces. She married The Queen actor Themba Ndaba, controversial Bishop Keith Harrington and businessman Max Lichaba. Her series of failed marriages has since left a lot to be desired.
